ATT30: Krista Mattern - Validity Evidence Supporting the New ACT Test Options

Abstract: Beginning in September of this year, students will have the option of taking the ACT online on a national test date, retesting in a single section, and sending colleges a score report that includes an ACT Superscore. Over the last several years, Research has conducted numerous studies to support the validity of ACT scores for use in college admissions based on these different test options. During this talk, team members will learn more about the research studies conducted to date and get answers to pressing questions such as:

Are ACT superscores a valid measure of students' college readiness?
Do scores earned from online testing signal the same level of college readiness as those earned from traditional paper and pencil testing?
Are section retesting scores as predictive of college success as traditional battery testing scores?
Attendees will leave the talk with a greater understanding of the wealth of research evidence backing the new test options for the ACT.
